Websites en webapplicaties worden dagelijks blootgesteld aan cyberaanvallen. Veel van deze aanvallen maken gebruik van bekende kwetsbaarheden die vaak eenvoudig voorkomen of opgelost kunnen worden. Om organisaties te helpen deze risico’s beter te begrijpen, heeft het Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) een overzicht opgesteld van de meest kritieke beveiligingsproblemen voor websites en webapplicaties: de OWASP Top 10.<\/p>

Deze lijst wordt wereldwijd gebruikt door ontwikkelaars, beveiligingsspecialisten, auditors en organisaties als richtlijn voor het verbeteren van website beveiliging. Hoewel het geen wetgeving of certificering is, vormt het voor veel organisaties de basis van hun beveiligingsbeleid.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Wat staat er in de OWASP Top 10?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

De lijst bevat de meest voorkomende en impactvolle kwetsbaarheden die worden aangetroffen in websites en webapplicaties. Voorbeelden hiervan zijn:

– Broken Access Control (onvoldoende toegangsbeheer)
– Cryptographic Failures (onvoldoende bescherming van gegevens)
– Injection-aanvallen, zoals SQL-injection
– Security Misconfiguration (verkeerde beveiligingsinstellingen)
– Vulnerable and Outdated Components (verouderde software)<\/p>

Deze kwetsbaarheden kunnen leiden tot datalekken, ongeautoriseerde toegang of verstoring van systemen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Veel succesvolle cyberaanvallen maken gebruik van bekende beveiligingsproblemen die voorkomen in de OWASP Top 10. Door regelmatig te controleren op deze risico’s kunnen organisaties kwetsbaarheden vroegtijdig identificeren en aanpakken.<\/p>

Daarnaast gebruiken veel andere standaarden en compliance-frameworks, zoals PCI DSS en ISO 27001, deze lijst als technische basis voor veilige webapplicaties.
